MALDEN, MA — The city took a big step in replacing its lead pipe service lines last week when it was announced $3.36 million in federal money was secured to assist in the removal of them. The money is part of an estimated $138 million Massachusetts is receiving in Congressionally Directed Spending in the Fiscal Year 2022 spending bill. The funding was requested by Assistant Speaker Congresswoman Katherine Clark. "I am thrilled to announce that I have secured federal funding for ten Community Projects throughout the Fifth District in this year's budget package," Clark said.
