The goal of the LSLR Collaborative is to help communities advance full lead service line (LSL) replacement. Replacement practices highlighted in this section will help communities, utilities, non-governmental organizations and others decide how to achieve LSL replacement by providing the tools, language, and information needed to successfully carry out a replacement effort. ​

These practices begin with considerations as basic as establishing a common language for the community to use, so that all parties can ​communicate clearly when setting expectations. The section reviews factors that are important for everyone to understand prior to deciding on a course of action. 

• Identifying affected buildings
• Communicating with homeowners, residents, and building managers
• Tasks for field personnel and consumers to reduce lead release.
