NEWARK, NJ — Vice President Kamala Harris lauded Newark’s lead service line replacement program during her visit to the city Friday, noting the program could set a precedent for other U.S. cities as the nation addresses its infrastructure needs.
“We are not here to talk about the crisis as much as we are to talk about the solution,” Harris said during a roundtable discussion hosted at the Training Recreation Education Center in the city’s South Ward. “The solution is evident… It’s about using this as a model for what we will do around the country.”
